Can I sue my University (UK) for cutting my course?

My University put forward proposals to cut four courses- Geography, Sociology, Community Education and Music. They Principal has claimed the cuts to my course (Geography) is due to it not being sustainable as there is not enough research being done. However, 2 years ago promised the department would have 2 new Professors to enable research. Instead he sacked lecturers and demoted Lecturer contracts to teaching contracts which made research capabilities impossible and unpaid. The ratio per Lecturer: student is a ridiculous level. The cuts were also announced during our exam period causing an enormous amount of stress to students and staff. Staff were sent an email late at night advising them to be in the office in 2 days but with no hint of what about. We opposed the cuts and presented alternative suggestions but they railroaded Senate through and they passed the motion. It now goes to court on Tuesday which as many of you know is just the rubber stamping mob. Can I sue?
