What do you call a connection that is situational and not telepathic?

Frequent similar occurrences continue to occur over time to the same 2 people. For example, person A has a close sibling that dies, then a few months later person B has a close sibling that dies. However, the occurrences continue. Person A has a cell phone that won't hold a charge and dies. Then a few weeks later person B has a cell phone that won't hold a charge and dies. Person A has 2 boys age 4 and 3. Person B has 2 boys age 4 and 3. Person A has a semi close relative die and a few weeks later person B has a semi close relative that dies. And so on. The occurrences are continuing and have not stopped over a period of several years. How would you label something like this?
